Zug’s latest skyscraper is revealed
The 56-metre high jewel in the centre of Zug is the first residential skyscraper in Switzerland with a sliding casement facade: 18 floors have been enhanced with 136 horizontal, pneumatically-sealed sliding windows from air-lux.
The innovative façade solution uses natural stone and metallic glass, and includes external shading. It has been developed and built by Krapf AG Metall+Glas from Engelburg SG together with the Philipp Brühwiler architectural office from Zug.
The highest level of water tightness provided by the patented pneumatically-sealed system and the excellent static resistance against high wind loads guarantee that air-lux’s unique selling point is unrivalled in the frameless large-scale sliding windows segment.
