New: "picture frame" sliding doors
The property, which is currently being built in the Zurich area, features 350 automatic air-lux sliding windows, installed in the exposed concrete façade (picture frame). This customised architectural and technical design is a new development that emerged through a close collaboration with the architects.
The building will also contain a hotel, restaurant, rented premises, conference rooms, a doctors' surgery, a palliative care department and a nursery.
The different urban uses of the complex demand a high degree of individuality and safety. Each window can be opened and closed automatically, including at heights of up to 40 metres. Although unusual for a high-rise building, this characteristic is necessary for meeting the different usage requirements. In addition, all sliding windows feature fall protection and sun-protection glazing, as well as interior fabric blinds in the hotel.
With their patented pneumatic sealing system, air-lux sliding windows achieve the highest level of impermeability in the industry. The system continues to prove its worth in high-rise construction.
