Footbridge at Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil: The gap is bridged.

Installation of the footbridge link 55 metres in length and 3.5 metres wide between Seminarhotel Sempachersee (SHS) and the Guido Zäch Institute (GZI) was completed in one day. Four arched steel elements 12 to 18 metres long and weighing between 13 and 19 tonnes were positioned meticulously on concrete supports using a large crane before being bolted together. The footbridge is built with an incline of 1 m to 55 m to connect the different levels of the two buildings.

This link will now be equipped with a flat roof structure made from insulated wood elements; glazing made with 380 m2 of “bird protection” glass will also be fitted along the sides. A non-slip subfloor with a floor heating system will be installed to finish.
